On March 27th, 2009 the PoHC Community Reference Group (CRG) obtained a new perspective of the proposed expansion of the Port of Hastings. Hosted by the Victorian Regional Channels Authority on their vessel, the George Molland, PoHC chief Executive Officer Ralph Kenyon pointed out the areas of potential future port expansion to CRG members as they toured the bay.

"I appreciated the opportunity to participate in the recent PoHC Boat trip on Westernport Bay to assist in understanding the many different aspects of developing the future Port of Hastings.
Significant and diversified Environmental and Engineering challenges are required to be addressed in the Planning and Development of the Port.
To be able to see the Area from on-the-water perspectives was helpful and enabled me to gain a much better insight into the important challenges involved in developing the Port of Hastings.
